Scotland - Dunkeld to St Andrews

We were surprised to see the sign 'Welcome to the Kingdom of Fife'. According to the locals, King James 111 declared this area was a kingdom and it remains so today. Others say it was a Pictish kingdom many centuries ago but that is no longer applicable today. Try telling the locals that! They still believe that Fife is the capital of Scotland. Our first stop in this Kingdom of Fife was at Athernase Church. It was built in the romanesque style with the tiered bell tower immediately catching our eye.
